Little Us – Privacy Policy
Little Us is a shared pregnancy diary for two partners. This policy explains what the app and this website store, where, who can see it, and how to delete it. We keep it short on purpose: we collect only what the features need.
What we store
- Account: your email address, display name, unit preference (lb/kg), locale and, if you add one, a profile photo (visible only to you and your partner).
- Pregnancy: due date, optional last-menstrual-period date, baby nickname, birth date once recorded, the date of a pregnancy loss if you record one, and which two accounts are paired.
- Diary: entries, moods, symptom tags, comments, reactions, and photos you attach.
- Health logs you choose to enter: weight, kick-count sessions, contraction timings, and prenatal checkups: their dates, the questions you want to ask, and the results you choose to log (blood pressure, baby's heart rate, weight, notes).
- Prep checklist: items, who ticked them, notes on what you bought, and photos you add.
- Little gifts: a few words and, with Plus, a drawing and a voice note of up to 20 seconds that you send your partner, the wrapping paper you picked, and when it was opened or loved. Voice notes sent with earlier versions of the app are kept the same way.
- Time capsule letters (Plus): your words and an optional photo, who the letter is for, the day it opens and your time zone. Until that day only the writer can read the words and see the photo.
- Bump photos (Plus): one photo per week, the day it was taken and who added it.
- Purchases: if either of you buys Little Us Plus, a record of the purchase (product, store and date). Payment itself is handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card details.
Where it lives
All data is stored in a Supabase project hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1). Photos, including profile photos, bump photos and letter photos, and voice notes are stored in private storage buckets and served only through short-lived signed links. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by the hosting provider.
Who can see it
- Only the two members of a pregnancy can read its data. This is enforced by database row-level security, not just by the app's screens.
- We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. There are no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- We may access data only to provide support you request, or when required by law.
Health data
Weight, symptoms, kick counts, contraction timings and checkup notes are health-related information that you enter voluntarily to share with your partner. They are used only to display back to the two of you and to generate the optional PDF memory book on your device. The app offers general information only and is not medical advice.
Notifications and device permissions
- Checkup reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
- Partner updates: when your partner posts, comments, sends a gift or seals a time capsule letter, and when a letter opens, we send a push notification to your phone. To do that we store a push token for each device you sign in on. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple or Google, and contain only your partner's first name and, if they picked one, their mood (for example "Checked in: feeling tired"), or that a gift or letter is waiting. Entry text, gift and letter contents, photos and recordings are never included. Turn them off in Settings → Partner updates; signing out removes the device's token.
- Photo library and camera access are used only when you choose to attach a photo to a diary entry, a checklist item or a letter, take a bump photo, or pick a profile photo.
- Microphone access is used only while you record a voice note for a gift.
To your account's address we send transactional email only: account confirmation and password reset codes. We send other email only to people who join the waitlist on our website (below), and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
This website and the waitlist
- This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts are served from the site itself. It is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations.
- If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the language of the page, the campaign tag of the link you came from (if it had one), which consent wording you agreed to, and when. We use it only to email you when Little Us launches and, at most, a few times before that. It is stored in the same Supabase project in Canada and shared with no one, other than the email service that delivers those emails.
- To leave the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, or ask us to delete your address (contact below).
Deleting your data
- Leave a pregnancy (Settings → Leave pregnancy): your time capsule letters that haven't opened yet are deleted, and if you were the last member, all of the pregnancy's data, photos and voice notes are deleted.
- Delete your account (Settings → Delete account): removes your profile, your profile photo, your entries, comments, reactions, voice notes and health logs immediately, and, if you were the last member, the pregnancy, its photos and its voice notes. This cannot be undone.
Children
Little Us is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and show a notice in the app.
